津波エイド
過去2000年間では一度も津波のことを聞いたことはなかったスリランカ（インド洋の真珠とも言われている）は2004年12月26日の津波から大きな被害を受けました。今までの計算によると4万5千人が死亡し、同じぐらいの人数が行方不明になっています。その中で3割が子供と言われています。この事件で家が失った人々の数も150万人に上っています。その他、大勢な工場や基本設備なども破壊されています。全体的にこの津波により、国の人口の約1割の財産が全て失われたと言ってもいいでしょう。
もう一つの残念なこととして、数分間で、何千人の子供の両親二人ともまたはどっちかが亡くなっています。このように、自分の家族や家を失ったかわいそうな子供達が大きなショックを受けていますので、自分はこれからどうすればいいのかが判断できなくなっています。スリランカから留学している学生として、我々の仕事はこの子供達に宿泊設備を用意し、学校へ行けるような状態にすることだと思います。これにより、子供達に第２番目の両親や先生に会う機会ができ、自分の精神的衝撃からある程度離れることができるのではないかと思います。母国の未来はこの子供達であり、自分は津波により失った財産の中で一番大切なものは教育です。
なのでこのかわいそうな子供達の里親になり、スリランカの未来を助けてくれるよう日本人の方々にお願い申し上げます

Sri Lanka, the "Pearl of Indian Ocean" hasn't heard of a tsunami for the last 2000 years, was hit by the devastating tsunami that occurred on the 26th December 2004. Over 45000 people are dead in Sri Lanka up to now. A similar number is missing and presumed to be dead. Out of this over 30% are said to be children. This unprecedented event has displaced over 1.5 million people and destroyed their lively hoods. It has also destroyed the industries and most of the infrastructure right around this small island. Basically this tsunami has taken away every thing of about 10% of the population of Sri Lanka.
The most overwhelming thing is tens of thousands of children have either lost one or both of their parents just within few minutes. They are now under a tremendous trauma and cannot think of a future without their homes and families. They are so innocent and they canﾕt understand what has happened to them suddenly. As students from Sri Lanka, our objective is to help these innocent orphans to get to their second homes, schools as early as possible. This will enable them to meet their second parents, the teachers and it will ease out their trauma to a certain extent. These children are the future of our motherland and the education is the most precious thing that they can have after losing all their loved ones.
We therefore very kindly appeal to the Japanese public, who always come forward in these situations to support the innocent future of our country at your best. Please join hands with us to become the foster parents to these innocent children.Ｍａｎｏｄｈａ Ｇａｍａｇｅ
