Invitation to Mekong Delta 2005 international OSH seminar

    The international cooperation between ECHO(Center for Occupational Health and Environment Can Tho, Vietnam), ISL(The Institute for Science of Labour ) and TOSHC(Tokyo Occupational Safety and Health Center) has grown steadily, as we conducted the international Mekong Delta training course from 2000. The training site was mainly located in the Song Hau farm. The WIND programme in the Song Hau farm has also started from 2000. These two programmes brought with them fruitful results, including thousands of improvements in the households of farmers, the WIND training package and growing enthusiasms among foreign participants. Based on these achievements, we are developing an environmental protection training course for small and medium-sized enterprises in Can Tho Province. The training course was named “WIPE = Work Improvement for Protection of Environment” and supported by the Environment Activity Support Programme of the TOYOTA motor corporation.

The Mekong Delta 2005 seminar will be held as an international training seminar for environmental protection in small and medium-sized enterprises from 23 to 30 August. The management committee welcomes participation of anyone interested in this training seminar.

The deadline of the application is the end of June.

The announcement of the 5th Participatory Action Oriented Training in the Mekong Delta　(Mekong Delta 2005)

The purposes of the training course

1.      Learning from the Participatory Action Oriented Training experiences in the Mekong Delta.

2.      Attending the participatory environment protection training course in Can Tho city.

3.      Promoting participatory improvements in each country.

4.      Exchanging participatory improvements activities.

The tentative training schedules

Meeting date and place:  23 August  Tuesday  16:00

The exit of Ho Chi Minh city international airport

23 Evening:   proceed to Can Tho city.

24 Wednesday: Learning PAOT methodology.

25 Thursday:  Factory visit and collect good examples and preparing technical presentations. 

26 ～ 27 :   WIPE(Work Improvement for Protection of Environment) training course.

28: Rest

29 Monday:  Farm visit and leaning the achievements of WIND training course.

30: Evaluation and Closing
