皆さまへ：明けましておめでとうございます。
ＡＴＴＡＣ Ｊａｐａｎの清水です。今年もよろしくお願いします。

実は、年末、アタックの一年間の活動（デモ・スタイル）など反省会がありまして、ＷＳ
Ｆ２００４文化イベントについてあまり知られていないことに気付きました。鶴田さんの
書き込みに応えて、原文の場所をお知らせします。（文化イベントについてはＷＳＦサイ
トに２カ所重複してあります。表現が多少違っていますが…）

　それで、ついでといっては何ですが、ＷＳＦ２００４に向けた大事なことが二つありま
す。ひとつは、イラク戦争反対キャンペーンの展示会→反戦の横断幕、ポスター、アピー
ル用装置、ビデオ、写真など昨年春以来のイラク反戦運動の高揚を世界的に共有化したい
というものです。すてきなポスターなどあれば持参しましょう！アタックでは横断幕を作
ります。

　もう一つは、すでにお知らせしているメッセージ・パッチワークの布きれ２枚持ってい
こうというものです。スヌーフはヒンズー語ではないでしょうか。蛇足ですが、街角が
ヌッカドとは言語の流転を感じます。

Protest Art from Anti War-on-Iraq Campaign

This would be a cross-media exhibition of anti-war art, campaign materials and
documentation produced during the protests against the attack on Iraq. Early
2003 witnessed massive demonstrations by people from all over the world to
oppose the Bush led invasion. We would like this phenomenal wave of protest to
be remembered and celebrated at the WSF venue in 2004. Banners, posters,
installations, films, emails, photos, independent media coverage of
demonstrations, all are invited.
All organisations and individuals involved in the on-going campaign against the
US-led invasion of Iraq are requested to send their materials for the
exhibition.

Soof Patchwork Canopy

Canopy.
Soof meaning patchwork recalls the robes of the Soofis who made patchwork
garments from old clothing. Symbolic of the confluence and dialogue of the WSF,
an immense patchwork tapestry of textile squares with images and messages from
all over the world, will be stitched together at the venue and draped as a
canopy over the closing evening. Everyone, all over the world, is asked to bring
two fabric squares, of 31 cm x 31 cm or one foot square, expressing their wishes
for the WSF. One square will be joined to the patchwork, and the other will be
exchanged with any other, so that everyone goes back home with a piece of the
canopy, while leaving their mark behind on the joint work. Even those who cannot
come to Mumbai can take part, sending their contributions with their friends and
getting a patch in return from them.
