Subject: FOEI: Urgent message from FoE Norway

Dear friends,

We need your urgent help. Do you have any information about the=20
Japanese company KANEGAFUCHI? =20

We have found that Kanegafuchi is responsible for pollution of the=20
harbour of Oslo, Norway. The pollution is PCB, mostly used in ships=20
paint up until PCB was forbidden here in 1980. The trade name of the=20
Kanegafuchi product identified in sediments in Oslo harbour is=20
Kanechlor. =20

Friends of the Earth Norway has worked for several years to make=20
producers responsible for environmental damage caused by their=20
products. We have now made important progress. Any information you=20
might be able to come up with on this particular company would be=20
greatly appreciated. We are also interested in information on the other=20
big PCB manufaturers Monsanto, Bayer and Rhone Poulenc. =20

Thanking you in advance for your help, =20
