At the Okinawa International Forum we plan to consider the following:Menu
- Clarify the role of the U.S. military presense and U.S. strategy in the Asia-Pacific region;
- clarify the meaning for asia and for the world of the struggle of the Okinawan people against U.S. military bases;
- explore the conditions for the establishment of international peace in the Asia-Pacific region;
- share the understanding made clear by the women's movement of the gender discrimination that lie at the foundation of military and base organization;
- search for a people's solution for the regional, religious, and ethnic conflicts that provide and excuse for the violent intervention of the state;
- examine critically the historical understanding of the relations between the Asian people and modern Japan;
- seek to build a transborder network aimed at establishing a for-the-people, by-the-people security.
