最新のAir Force News（下に転載）で初めて知ったのですが、今年の４月10
日、イラクの「飛行禁止空域」の「パトロール」に配備された三沢基地所属
のF-16戦闘機が、あちらの空域で僚機とともに対地攻撃の訓練中、次のような
事故を起こしたそうです。
「目標にロックオン。地獄に落ちろ！サダム！」キーン、ドカーン。
「上出来だ、ジョー。基地に帰還する前に、ダメージチェックだ。？？お
い！お前のミサイルはどうした？」
「なっ？なにー！ミサイルがない？おのれ〜！サダムゥ！」
「いや、ここは俺たちだけだ。落とし物だぜ。イマージェンシーを発令する
か？」

結局２日後に、この落とし物（空対空ミサイルAIM-120）は砂漠で発見。即、
米軍によって破壊。事故調査委員会は先日この落下の原因が、ミサイルを留め
ている自動ロックのボルト不良が原因であると結論を出しました（下記事）。
落としたところが砂漠だからよかったものの、これが人口稠密な日本だった
ら、と考えると下手な怪談よりも寒くなります。もっと怖いのは、明らかにこ
の事故を起こしたF-16は三沢に帰ってきて、日本の上空を飛んでいるに違いな
いことです。報道されていないことから考えると、日本人の誰もこのことを意
識していなかった。
三沢のF-16は最近、数えきれない回数事故を起こしており（今年１月には岩
手に墜落）、どの事故がどうだったか分からない程です。しかも北朝鮮を意識
して、最近低空飛行の訓練を実戦化しているようで、ますます危ない。飛行機
本体の落下の心配（現実）の他に、ミサイルが空から降ってくる（これも現
実）のにも注意を払わないといけないということです。
まあこのミサイル(AIM-120の射程は50km）が市街地を直撃したら、マスコミ
も大きく取り上げざるを得ないのですが、その時は、「予見された事故」なん
て大見出しが付くのでしょうね。事故が起こってから「予見」する、「予言
者」のようなことをするくらいなら、今からキャンペーンを張ってもらわない
と、と思うのですが、安保批判派と思われると昇進がままならないのでしょう。
とにかくこの欠陥F-16は今日も日本の空を飛んで、日本人の生命を脅かして
いる。「テポドン」などとは比べ物にならない軍事的脅威を与えているわけで
すが、知らぬが仏なのか。知らさない行政やマスコミに責任があるのか。

991609. Air Force releases findings of F-16 missile incident
HICKAM AIR FORCE BASE, Hawaii (AFPN) -- A failed self-locking mounting
bolt
is to blame for an AIM-120 missile and LAU-129 launching rail falling
from a
Misawa Air Base, Japan, F-16 while flying over Southwest Asia April
10.
The accident investigation board president issued an opinion that the
cause
of the incident was failure of the self-locking feature of the LAU-129
mounting bolts.
A contributing cause was the general lack of technical guidance addressing
how frequently the mounting bolts should be checked once they are installed
in the aircraft.
The incident took place during a training flight with another F-16.
Following simulated attacks on a ground target, the missile and rail
were
discovered missing during a routine battle damage check just prior
to
returning to base. No in-flight emergency was declared, and the
aircraft
received only minor damage to the left wingtip mounting area where
the
launcher rail attaches.
The missile and launcher were recovered from the desert two days later
and,
after determining they were no longer usable, were destroyed by demolition
