10月いっぱいまでカンパの募集期間を延長して
掲載実現をめざしています米紙への
意見広告運動の賛同金集約状況は、

　　　　　　　628万7200円　　　　（9月27日現在）　
　　　　
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　となっています。

みなさんのご協力のおかげで、
賛同カンパ目標額まで、あと270万円というところまでこぎつけました。

賛同カンパ募集期間を延長した新しいチラシの配布等、
今、ひとおしのみなさんのご支援、ご協力を
どうぞよろしくお願いします。
 
 
 

■掲載紙は、昨年に続き、ニューヨークタイムスに決定！　

広告の掲載紙をニューヨークタイムスにするか、ワシントンポストにするかで
懸案となっていましたが、様々な条件と現在の集約状況とを検討した結果、
再度、N.Y.タイムスへの掲載をめざすことになりました。

いろんな方から、E-MAIL やファックス、手紙が来ますが、
現役の日本の海兵隊員だと言う方からのメールは初めてです。

       First of all I would like to say Hello, and greetings...
       My name is R**M****. I'm a U.S. Marine stationed in Iwakuni,Japan.
       I must say, I don't quite agree with us being here in your country,
and i understand
       your position on wanting us to leave. Marines have done a good job of
giving our name
       a very bad meaning,both here in mainland Japan, and in Okinawa.
　　I understand your position.
       And know just how you feel. I must say myself that Japan is a
wonderful country
　　in this world.
       The people here are some of the greatest, kindest, and most generous
that
　　　I have ever seen.
       I too wonder why we are here. My answer is simply we provide
protection for you from 　　　　
　　　other countries
       like Korea, China, and Irac. However, what i don't understand is how
are we supposed to do         　
　　　that when we seem to be hurting your people and your way of life.
        I can tell you that not all Marines/Americans are like
       what you see and hear about in your media.
        The fact is those people you here about are the few and not the
       majority. I know it seems like the opposite because what you don't
read about is the good
       things we do for your people and community.
       And we do do a lot of good things that the media doesn't want you to
hear because it
       doesn't make money for their business.
       I have been to Hiroshima, and seen the Peace park and meusume several
times. And every
         time I visited their I cried. it is a terrible thing that happened
durring WWII,
         but is in the past and we all need to move on. I know it's a hard
thing to do.
       A lot of good peolpe died on both sides but we need grow to together
as one,
       that goes for    everyone in this world. We all
       need to live in peace together. We are all human. We are all the same
no matter
        what colour our skin, or where we were born.
       Peace, love and happiness.
