--------------------------------------------------------------------- Press Release from FIRE --------------------------------------------------------------------- URGENT, WEBCAST Marathon "Full Spectrum Against Racism" on FIRE this March 8 - International Women's Day. Feminist International Radio Endeavour (FIRE) will be doing a 10 hour WEBCAST Marathon, dedicated to the struggles of women against the racism ... FIRE is calling on women to send tapes with spots or programs about the issues. they can be any length of time and any format: interviews, reports, debates, testimonies, etc. Send your contributions to: FIRE, PO BOX 239, Ciudad Col=f3n Costa Rica or by e-mail en real audio or MP3. website: http://www.fire.or.cr/ email: fuegocr@sol.racsa.co.cr Especially for the black women of the region: we can arrange to receive collect live phone call from you so that you can talk about the issue live that day. Given that the calls will be to collect in Costa Rica, we cannot do it in an unlimited fashion, so we ask you to write to us beforehand to make the arrangements about the times of the day during the Marathon. Another form of participation is by sending us messages and letters via e-mail, which can read live during the Marathon. FIRE=b4s marat=f3n "Full Spectrum Against the Racism" will have the collaboration of WIN - the Women's Network of AMARC (World Association of Community Radios) - and it forms part of the "Voices Without Frontiers" Campaign of AMARC which will hold a 24 hour broadcast from South Africa via Internet, Satellite and local radios world wide on March 21st. FIRE hopes to make a contribution so that the voices of women speaking about the theme can be heard in the Campaign. FIRE has already made arrangements to send some of the programs of Full Spectrum to Voice without Frontiers for re-broadcast that day.
