Isis International-Manila is organising Soundcheck: Advanced Radio Techniques and Perspectives For Women In Broadcasting, a Trainer's Training for Asia-Pacific Women Broadcasters from 03 June to 08 June 2002 at the Bahay ni Isis in Quezon City, Philippines. Soundcheck will consist of participatory, hands-on sessions on advanced techniques on interviewing for radio, location recording, sound editing and mixing, studio and console operation, community radio program development; the use of Internet for radio; as well as discussions on gender-sensitive radio programming and other issues concerning women and media. Part of a training series for women broadcasters that Isis has been organising since 1998, Soundcheck is open to women broadcasters who meet the following criteria: -Women broadcasters doing women's radio programmes in Asia and the Pacific; -Have some basic knowledge of technical side of broadcasting (recording, editing); -Have the willingness, ability, and plan to share their skills; -Come from community radio, mainstream /government stations, educational institutions; or are block timers, independent producers, civil-society organisations; -Able to communicate in English; -Have basic computer skills.
